Please post what you find out.

Actually, I'd suggest you call Corporate as well, and tell them that someone you know was "threatened" by one of their sales reps with losing his Vonage Voip service, and you were worried about it.

Let them log a few calls on this "issue". Worst case, you find out it's true and you both have independent confirmation. Best case, you both find out it's not true and WTC-Greensboro has TWO complaints about that slimy, two-bit, lying sunofa(censored) salesperson they have on their Voip services end. Wink

EDIT: Duplicate post. Sorry. The SQL database this forum runs on seems a little slow and glitchy tonight. Though, given what they charge ($0), I'm grateful to have it around.

Actually, I think I mistakenly blamed your site. About ten seconds after I made that "correction", my WRTP54G pooped the bed again, and I had to go down and reset it.

Apologies for the misplaced blame. Wink

Anyone got a WRT54GS for sale, cheap? I don't mind scratch-and-dent or missing manuals, as long as it works, and as long as it's a PRE-v5 version. (grin)

Good news. After a 2nd call to the TW Corporate offices, I received a call back today from our local Greensboro Sales Manager. She said that this information was not true and after checking with their marketing folks, she said that they legally CAN'T block Vonage. She also could not figure out how that salesman got anything like that to say. So to make a long story short, she says that that information has been corrected with that salesman and there are no plan to block VONAGE!. YEAH!

All I can say is the arrogance of these communication companies (TWC, Comcast, etc.) never ceases to amaze me. It must have something to do with collusion and virtual monopolies. Some of the product literature is good for laughs, too. I was reading a Verizon pamphlet the other day, and they were boasting about how you can get a simplified bill (sans details) for no extra charge.

nice! maybe there is a service, I would even pay extra for it, where they can automatically deduct the money from my bank account and I wouldn't even have to look or think about what they were charging me!

There is a service...it's another Voip provider that doesn't show you the detailed billing..something about a spaceship and a bright ball of gas...
Personally, that would never "fly" with me..."Oh SURE taxes are included, don't worry about it..."
