I was having the common periodic disconnects with my moto located in front of my router, so last night I moved it behind my router so I won't have to power cycle the MTA every couple days.
Just now I checked my router's security log and there have been two SYN Flood Attacks (successfully defended) since moving the MTA. I am assuming that these were what was causing the moto to crash before I moved it.
However, I must say that I have NEVER experienced a SYN FLood Attack before installing my Vonage service. My security log has never showed anything abnormal previously. Can these attacks be somehow connected to or the result of my Vonage service? They occurred at approximately 10:00PM yesterday and about 8:00AM this morning, nothing additional since. Any ideas would be appreciated! |

don't know what that's about. I've not logged pings since things have worked pretty well for us.
Our moto is still out front. We left for the beach for four days and the phone stayed up the whole time we were gone. I'm not sure the last time we had to reset it, but it's been at least two weeks. We have had probably almost as stable service with the Moto in front of the Linksys as we did with the Cisco behind the Netgear. We got our comcast speed bump a few weeks ago and the whole system got weird. After it's stablized, however, I think we've only reset once. We've got four computers plus WAP and are heavy users for consumers, I think.
