My bank uses touch tones banking and this didnt work well with
Vonage
prior to release .55. Had to re-enter and hold down digits for the banks computer to recognize them. But since .55 release it has worker much better with much much less retries needed - just about equal to POTS line.
Moral is that .55 did fix issues that were unnoticed to most.
My latest bug is that when I delete VM and VMWI goes off after pressing * - it takes a few seconds before I get a dial tone again.
Caller ID is 100% though. Wife acceptance factor is very high.

the DTMF settings can be changed to in-band, this helps for most situations like that. before this firmware update, we had to replace a couple rtp300's with rt31p2's because they had DTMF tones that could be adjusted.

The WAF is the biggest thing as we all know!

WAF is huge - the biggest, toughest talking hulk will be reduced to a quivering jello mold by a termagant woman who can't use the phone the way she wants, whether it's ordering stretch pants from Lane Bryant or checking her husbands bank balance.
However, I have seen more than my share of grown men acting like hysterical teens when they can't get some MMORPG to work behind a router, or when you advise them to lose the extra routers, hubs and switches on their network that they don't need, because the lights are sooo coool.
Now get back on topic all of you!

I talked to a technician today about CID. Mine has also stopped working (again) after being up for a while then down. Like many others, it works once after an initial reboot.
My voltage was increased last week, which worked for one night, then died. I do wonder if it is some kind of voltage problem because my CID works fine when I unplug my upstairs phone. I have tried a variety of phones there but to no avail. And CID had been working fine on all lines before the firmware upgrade.
The technician today told me engineers are aware of the problem and are still working on it. He could only say the fix will -- hopefully --come soon and that
Vonage
would either contact me to let me know or just push it.
So, for now, if I want CID to work, I leave my upstairs phone unplugged. That will work for a little while, but each day that passes leaves me longing a little bit more for Ma Bell.

Based on the feedback above, I took my WRTP54G and unplugged it from my house wiring, that has a total of two telephones attached (the REN total of the two phones is well under 2.0). I only have my speakerphone hooked up now, with a ren of something like 0.3.
Whaddya know! Caller ID not only worked the first time after router restart, but worked the second time.
So, I can decide between having my extensions, and having my caller ID. I choose my extensions, but it's good to know I can have caller ID if I really, really want it that bad.
Like everyone else, it worked in 1.00.50 and before, got broken in 1.00.52, and is still broken in 1.00.55. However, caller ID is NOT an important feature to me. I'm just posting my experiences in case anyone finds it useful.

Hmmm....
I seem to be "out in the Cold". I have a RT31P2
Vonage
phone dohicky with firmware 1.30.01 To date I have not had any problems with either my phone or my 3 computers. Yes caller ID works fine.
Why am I not seeing any of these problems? I wish these things ran on superheated steam. I'd have a better understanding of what I'm dealing with.
