I received my connection kit (RTP 3000) and installed it. It "works" ! but I people says that they often lose my voice during a call.
I believe I know why. This my config :
[Bell modem/routeur Wifi] --> [Linksys RTP300] --> Phone
Because I'm always connected with my Laptop's wifi connection, the Linksys RTP300 cannot priorize the Voip dataflow.
So, I bought a Linksys WRT54G Wifi router and I tried to connect it this way :
[Bell modem/routeur Wifi] --> [Linksys RTP300] --> [Linksys WRT54G]--> Laptop
And you know what ? It does not work !!
Any idea ? |

umm you say you have a bell wifi .... huh.... i though bell only supplied a DSL modem. Anyways.
What does not work.. you did not specify... if nothing works then did you try reseting in sucession. ie. power everything off then power everything back on, in order (waiting for the previous one to boot first)
If it is your wifi connection that is not working. you will need to plug your new wifi router into the RTP300 using a crossover cable, these crossover cables are similar to the cat5 or RJ45 ethernet cabling. You will also need to plug this into the uplink port on your new wifi router and make sure that the uplink is turned on. Then plug it into the RTP300 into one of the spare ethernet ports you have on the back there.
then reboot everything in sucession as stated above. Should solve your issues.
I hope this helps you out, this is how i have my setup. and from what i read your issue was with QoS on the RTP300, ummm there are settings for this in several areas, first being the internet interface of your router. I think its 192.125.1.15 for the RTP300 if im not mistaken (check it out in your manual) and adjust the QoS settings to specific ports. Giving Vonage preference overall. Second, have you tried degrading your voice Quality on the Dashboard. This can result in less of a loss of packets (data) which carries your information if your setting is too high. third, umm did you try another phone. |

Ok... I'll go to Staples buy this uplink cable.
About Bell... I tought it too when the girl told me "we can provide you a wifi router too". I was waiting for an ADSL router + a wifi router. Unfortunatly it's a single product : Siemens SpeedStream 6520
Thanks for your help |

I am still confused as to what this "Siemens SpeedStream 6520" actually is. Is it a modem ? Is it a Wifi router ? is it both ? Is it just some router thats been marketed as a wifi ADSL modem ? If its both, why do you need a wifi router anyways ?
Just FYI you dont need a WIFI modem, to have access to a WIFI. U just need a wifi router. or maybe im in the dark on this one.
