I would like to have my calls go to VM at a particular time each day. I work out of my home, so I don't want the phoning ringing late in the evening. I would also need for it to activate back to my regular calling structure at some time in the am.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know of any way to make that happen using the Vonage voicemail feature. Of course, you can add a commercial answering system with that feature if you wish. |

I suppose the easiest way to be to change the vmail to pick up instantly - which will still make it ring for a second anyway..How about turn off the ringer on your phone when you don't want to hear it anymore? That'll make all your calls go to voicemail. |

I think he wants it to happen automatically. I don't see that happening. |

One possibility: Don't set your "equipment failure" numer, and unplug the router from power when you get off work... |

That should do it all right, but it's still not automatic. |

Well, true, but since he works at home, he should know when he's off shift and can just yank the power cord to the Vonage adapter on his way out of his home office.
Or there's always those mechanical timers. At 5PM, power gets cut off to the adapter, and BOINK - everything goes to voicemail. Automatic enough? (grin)
Silly ideas, yes, but heck - one might work. |

That's thinking outside the box. Should work. |

If you're willing to part with $100, the Caller ID Manger from Privacy Corps has a time of day feature that would allow you to send calls straight to VM whenever you want. One really nice thing about this box is that you don't get ANY ringing of your phones for calls you designate as VM only - even if you have your VM set to pick up at 30 seconds or whatever. It also allows you to have calls just go unanswered (without ringing your phones) if that is desired. I've been using this for a couple of weeks now, and while it is relatively expensive, it works and gives you very easy control of when and where your incoming calls go.
Alternatively, the lamp timer suggested above would provide a $10 solution for the time of day issue! |
