Agevon, thank you for the update. Please keep us posted here.

My RTP300 on v.1.00.55 works sporadically. I just recently received a call that went fine, but on other calls, I could not hear the other caller. The party initiating the call does not seem relevant to this issue. CID is also hit 'n miss.

Just got off the phone with a tech that kept putting me on hold to talk to someone higher up... After 45 min, basically same answer as Agevon, they can't fix it now but engineers are working on it and will call back when they have a solution. Meantime not dialtone, no cid, first few seconds of incoming calls drop... No problems since July until this firmware update...

Well after reading this thread, I can see that I'm not the only one with this problem and that calling Tech Support at this point is useless. Dang, I was running just fine with 1.00.52 and they had to upgrade it. I wasn't having the caller ID issues like a lot of the folks here are reporting.

Luckily, I have another line with the ATA-186 so at least I'm functional but I'll be asking Vonage to conceed a portion of my fee until this gets fixed.

Just for reference, I have a Panasonic 5.8 Mhz (KX-TG6502) with a base unit and four wireless handsets. None of the five phones work and replacing it with the other Panasonic (KX-TG2382) cordless system does me no good either.

I grabbed an old corded phone and plugged it into LINE 1 on the WRTP54G and WHAM! I had dial tone. I couldn't dial anything since the keypad was broken. So I found another corded phone and plugged it in and there WAS dial tone waiting for me there as well.

For me, at least, this problem seems to be with powered cordless phones and probably has something to do with the voltage being sent down the line. My inbound seems to work fine just like others have described here.

Come on Vonage, let's get this one behind us.

Mark,

Very interesting discovery.

I just pulled the old, trusted corded phone out of the closet, dusted off the cobwebs and low and behold get a dial tone!!

What the heck has Vonage done with this latest update to break it with cordless phones???

This has to be a big clue to Vonage - but how do we get the info to them. Calling Tech Service seems futile.

Maybe some of the forum vets have a suggestion?

I just posted a new thread but i am also having the same problems. i don't have an older corded phone to try but my suspision was that it might work.

also using a panasonic cordless phone system... same symptoms as previous mentioned.

tech support for an hour doing hard resents and continually asking what my WAN IP address was until my cell phone dropped the call... i couldnt get beyond the level one guy - please tell me your secret to getting to level 2! Smile

Someone wrote a message in one of the threads indicating that 888 250 1799 goes straight to level 2. I can't vouch for it, but there it is.

With regard to the rest of the thread, I find it interesting that the problem involves cordless phones and a wireless router. I know the router is 2.4 GHz and the phones mentioned were 5.8 GHz, but it's still suspicious.

Interestingly it appears to have to do with the wireless phone. i got a hard wire phone and even when the cordless gives no dial tone, the hardline will without the reset.

and i dont have wireless in my setup.

this is weird but definately looks firmware related.

My phones are 5.8Ghz but the base station also has a keypad and speaker phone which is my 5th phone in the group and the base doesn't work either. This isn't a wireless issue but clearly has something to do with the voltage required or some other thing that is specific to the situation.

Something happened...

I was working on the computer around midnight and I suddenly lost connectivity to the Internet. It didn't last long and I assumed it was a router update. Well, the version number didn't change from 1.00.55 so I assumed it was a quirk of wireless and went back to work.

Around 1:00am, it occurred to me that maybe Vonage was tinkering with things and I tried to pick up one of my cordless phones. Sure enough, I had dial tone.

I have been picking up the phone (both corded base and cordless handset) over the past two hours and it is clearly working 100% of the time now.

Any one else?

Did I just get a stealth update?
