Post subject: The Telus Strike(if you are waiting please read)
Although
Vonage
is taking good care of me by giving me next month for free I am still angry that Telus has still not ported my number after 30 days. In the last 48 hours I have contacted
Vonage
who is giving me the free month which is more than fair even though its not their fault. I have also contact the CRTC who has informed me that the labour dispute is not my or
vonage
'sroblem and that telus is still obligated to live up to the rules and regulations set up for porting numbers The person I talked to said it should be 2 weeks at the most. She also told me to get
vonage
to file a complaint if they are causing too many delays. I have also called telus multiple times to express my anger and to inform them that I will not be paying my bill for the days past when my number should of been ported over. After a few other angry words I was told my case was escalated. The disturbing thing about one of my calls to telus is that somebody told me that there were 1000's of people waiting and that because of the labour dispute they weren't changing over any number at all right now. I have also called
vonage
again and told them about my findings with the CRTC and my conversations with telus.
Why am I posting this? Because I am one crackpot with one voice. If everybody who is having the same problem speaks up that will help everybody do their what they are supposed to do. Thanks.

Does the "porting delay" effect "New Number" activations?
I've been waiting 4 days for an activation of a NEW number. Daily calls to
Vonage
yield "We're having technical problems."

Post subject: Telus Strike
I too have been waiting for almost 2 months and have contacted Telus. The manager there states "It can take a really long time". When asked what a really long time means and why does it take a really long time, should had no response, says she doesn't know the process.
I have contacted the CRTC but have not heard back from them yet.
Vonage
has been been accommodating enough to not bill my account again until the number is transferred.

Over 3 months, and I am still waiting to be ported. I don't know if this is worth the effort and frustration !!

I think I'll just pull the pin on Telus and get a new phone number.
Change is good, right!
