Hello. Below is the current status of my porting. Is there something i can do to expedite the processing of this by Bell? I'm paying for both Bell and Vonage now when i don't need 2 lines, and my billing cycle for Bell is coming up shortly. I understand vonage has stated 20 days up from 10 in the past, but i had read a lot of folks were still having it done in 10 business days. Any recommendations? Thanks.

This is one of those cases that you just need to be patient and wait it out. I recommend that you don't contact Bell - let the request and process happen from Vonage. I might have the fastest (one of the fastest anyways) LNP on the forum with 9 days from activating a Vonage account to service transfer completed, but it lets you know that it can happen considerably faster than the 20 days. |

You should be patient, but not too patient. Although you are dealing with a different company last I heard from Telus they are now claiming to have never recieved the transfer notification.
The only thing in this that really bothers me is vonage's attitude. The CSR's are well meaning but at this point although I do appreciate the credit on my account I want my number to be switched over as it is inconvenient having one phone to dial long distance with and my other phones to answer. |

Well its ported over as of this afternoon. Whats odd is i never got any email, or warning or anything that would have prepared me for the switch. I just went to pick up my old line, which still has a dial tone (bell leaves a tone for 911), but couldn't make a call. So i check the website, and it still reads Transfer sent to carrier.
Anyhow, i'm not complaining. 13 business days is acceptable imo. Just wanted to share my experience and hope everyone else's is as smooth. Just wierd that the website doesn't show it as ported, and i didn't receive any notices.
Cheers! |
