HELP! I want to keep Vonage service but was on with technical support for hours and was changing settings trying to help me get my phone system to work. But we came to the conclusion that he figured the PAP2 modem was not putting out enough voltage to ring my phone.
I have the NT2N82AA31 Venture phone system and can not afford to loose it's features with the blocking private number and multiple user mailboxes and multiple greetings from the directory.
The phone rings about 1/2 a ring has a long pause and then 1/2 a ring again. Which is making the phone think the caller has hung up in between rings and isn't even showing the caller ID.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix this or what modem might be better to get or do I have a faulty modem? |

Well I just got off the phone again with Vonage and put in an order to have a "Request to Increast Port Power Limit" let's hope this fixes my problem. |

Well that did not help...
Now I'm searching for a good priced Ring Voltage Booster to see if this will fix my problem. |

I can't give up my Venture phones either! What Ring Volume Booster did you purchase, and why? Did it work well?
What appliance are you using? Is it the Linksys RTP300? |

I've got a Venture phone system and the Linksys PAP2 Vonage adapter.
By plugging the phone into line 2 the dial-in issue disappears ...
But I have frequent problems with originating calls - and then shortly thereafter I loose all audio. The calling party (other end) can usually still hear me but I can't hear them. Seems like it may be related. |

I have the same problem. By plugging into line 2 or 3 the ring tone problem went away but I lost the ability to transfer or intercom other extensions. Any ideas?

I have Nortel Venture Phones and was experiencing issues with Vonage calls. After reading the posts in this fourm, I moved my service to line two of the Venture Phones and all issues went away.
I originally had local service from SBC plugged into line 1, and to test Vonage before terminating my old service, I placed Vonage on line 2 which worked fine. A few weeks later I terminated service with SBC and moved the Vonage to the line one position. That's when issues started. Unfortunately, they are random and inconsistent making it hard to troubleshoot. I've worked on this for many months off and on and was about ready to terminate my Vonage service and go back to SBC. I had even gone out and bought a new phone adapter. It was after I had replaced my adapter and the problem continued when I decided to search the web for "Vonage and Venture problems". The Venture Phones use line one to communicate with one another (intercom, shared directory, etc...). Although I could now make and receive quality phone calls, these Venture Phone features stopped working when I moved the Vonage to line two. To resolve this, I plugged line one into my old phone adaptor (not hooked up to the network). This gives the line one position on the Venture phones enough voltage or signal so they can communicate with each other. My new phone adaptor runs line 2. Now everything is working perfectly again. |
