Will this set-up work reliably?

I have the WRT54G using the latest firmware and QOS set to highest for the mac address of the PAP2

I don't see why not. The switch should not be giving you anything to worry about, and other than that you are basically putting your adapter behind a standard router. There's a list of ports you need to forward to the adapter here somewhere on the forums, probably in a few hundred places, but I don't see anything extraordinary there.
