I'm in the Madison, WI area. My ISP is Charter 3Mb/256. I have an SB4100 cable modem. My setup is Modem > RTP300 > Computer.

The problem I have is playing online Battlefield 2, the game locks up. If I disconnect the RTP300 router and just connect direct to the modem everthing works fine. My hunch is that its a punkbuster issue, but I don't really know.

Any Ideas on settings I can try? Should I disable the routers firewall? Actually I tried that but you have to disable NAT and Firewall together and when I do I cannot access anything online.

I'd appreciate any help Smile

You might try setting up port forwarding or port triggering but i had a hell of a time getting the RTP300 to work with anything other than the (mostly) default settings. Don't ask me how to do any of that either.

I can tell you that I seem to have solved my problem, http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic9245.html , by patching the WAN (blue) side straight into the LAN (yellow) side and patching the modem also into the LAN (yellow) then disabling NAT and Firewall. It would be nice to have separate settings for these two things as well as some of the other settings that are described in the "Help" but not available on the router with firmware 1.00.52.

I'm in Brooklyn, NY with 3Mbps/768kbps Covad DSL. Connected equipment includes:

RTP300 w/ Vonage firmware 1.00.52
Motorola -?- w/ Vonage
Airport Express
zYxel 643
WRT54g
PC's
Mac's
Linksys 5 and 8 port switches
Siemens 8 port switch (unfortunately)

All happy, happy now...

Good luck.

Ok the game freezing might have been a separate issue, although its still happening for 5 to 10 seconds at a time after maybe 20minutes playing.

What always happens though is I cannot connect to a game server on the first try, it looses the connection, then when I retry it works. I've setup port forwarding on all the ports needed for the game, and even made my pc a dmz host. No change.

The only thing that makes it work right is if I disconnect the rtp300 and go straight to the modem. My isp only provides one IP address so putting a switch behind the modem and thus bypassing the rtp300 isn't possible if I want to use the Voip, any known issues that might be relevant?

Got it figured out, if anyone else has similar trouble. The problem was that the routers DNS Proxy wasn't working right, when trying to connect to a punkbuster server that didn't exist it would continually retry the same server until it times out, so I disabled the Proxy and manually entered the DNS IPs on my PCs Network settings and everything now works fine.
