When I got Vonage 6 months ago or so, I connected the RT31P2 adapter I received up to my house's wiring (5 phones in all), everything worked great. Then about 1 month ago, my adapter quite working altogether (no phone 1 light at all). Vonage sent me a new RTP300 device as a replacement. When I hooked it up, the ring durations were very short (would receive two rings in my house for every 1 ring on the incoming callers phone), not all 5 phones would always ring when a call came in, and my caller id would only display half of the time. After spending NUMEROUS hours with 4 or 5 different technical support reps, they messed with some of my adapter settings (set ring frequency from 20 to 50 and ring voltage from 90 to 100) and now my ring duration is correct and all of my phones ring when I receive a call. However, I still DO NOT get my caller id display more than half the time. One of the reps told me I should be glad it worked that much. I think that answer is UNACCEPTABLE - especially since it worked fine with the RT31P2 adapter.
Does anyone know how to resolve the sporadic caller id display without switching to another Voip service such as Time Warner or Earthlink? |

This is a known issue with the latest RTP300 firmware. Check out the threads "Anyone else having trouble with Caller ID?" and "What's the latest on firmware 1.00.55 for the 300". |
