Vonage is usually rock solid. I can't think of the last time a problem occured, and this one is technically not their fault so to speak.

Yes i am on Adelphia, but is this a normal ongoing issue or was Vonage still the way to go?

This seems to be an Adelphia issue affecting Vonage. This is the longest I have had issues with the service in a long long time...Don't worry, you made a good choice.

Just signed up yesterday... sign up was painless and I was overjoyed at the ease of setup and initial performace. But alas, been down now for over four hours, and Vonage Service Status still states "No current service announcements." This seems to be hitting quite a few people, be it Adelphia or Vonage, Vonage should at least provide some feedback.

OK, maybe I was a little quick to blame Adelphia, but I find it very troubling that I can access www.vonage.com through a VPN. Also I had someone using a different ISP access vonage.com, again no problems. But I cannot access vonage.com through my regular Adelphia connection. And, I highly doubt that Vonage's SIP network is on the same subnet as their public webserver, that would be just brain-dead on Vonage's part. So I'm still left with two basic assumptions: Adelphia accidentally crushed one of its East coast routers, or they're up to something. Hope it's the former...

I'm in Northern Virigina and on Adelphia. I contacted Adelphia online support and they said the problem is on Vonage's end. The support guy told me that the Vonage site says that Cox, TIme Warner and Adelphia customers cannot make calls but can receive them. I have to take his word for it as I can't access Vonage.com to check for myself. It was interesting though that the Adelphia support guy was able to access Vonage.com and I am not able to. Mr. Adelphia told me that the support people are connected to the interet "differently" (from their residential subscribers)...

Vonage has been rock solid for me as well. Still appears to be a Routing Issue. I can get out of Adelphia's Routers then it starts to drop.
