Have you tried power cycling the router? I'm wondering if maybe it needs that in addition to the flash to make all of the changes take effect. (At least I'm hoping!)

Gah. I dl'd the file and then...
Can the flash only happen through the USB interface? On the rt31p2 you could do it through the plain ol' web interface. I can't seem to find the tab where the file selection is anymore

I called up Vonage, worked my way through the phone tree and within 5 minutes I was talking to Tech Support. I asked them for the new 1.00.55 firmware because I hadn't had Caller ID for the past 2 weeks and the guy said that once I hang-up and power-cycle the ATA and I'd have it. Well, I did that and within 5 minutes, I had the new firmware. Got a call tonight and had Callerd ID. The test will be the rest of this week. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Vonage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

same here - (RTP-300) after installing .55 firmware and confirming it tested with cellphone - only 4 out of 5 had CID with one of the four ringing once and disconnecting. I had done a quick power-up so now I tried a two minute power-up. More wife-testing tomorrow (shes really miffed about this caller ID thing)



Very discouraging.

I tried every combination of power cycling known to man. Luckily, I have all of my house wiring back in place, so I only had to disconnect one standalone CID box. The CID is still working on my sat receivers and two other phones. So I'm *mostly* satisfied but still don't understand why this could work properly on previous hardware platforms and be so difficult to figure out on a brand new adapter.

Perhaps somebody will release some voltage fix? I'm not sure how CID works, but if removing a device from the shared wiring fixes the problem, shouldn't there be a physical way to fix it while maintaining use of all the devices?

An update to .55 is coming as this release DID NOT fix issue with caller ID. Techies are once again scrambling at Vonage to figure out the fine mess...LMAO

1.00.55 has *sorta* fixed the problems with my WRTP54G. The router is a bit more stable, but it still needs restarts and I can't use it for any heavy duty traffic.

In my case, I'd be happy to not even have Caller ID, as long as I can surf the net for more than a day without having to go and reset my router. The Vonage service is pretty stable, but it keeps dropping everything else to the point where I might be better off using dialup when I want to do anything but use my Vonage line on my internet connection. I use the Internet far more than I use my Vonage line.

*sigh* and I gave up a perfectly good Netgear router in the "G for Free" rebate offer for this one. I should have kept my old router and just gotten a Vonage phone interface. But, no, I wanted 802.11G.

Time to shop for a new router to "hide" this Linksys behind, I guess, so Vonage can't destroy the rest of my Internet connection any more.

I got .55 last night and it fixed my CID. Now, I haven't received a ton of calls, but every one I've gotten so far has come up correctly on CID.
