Good Day, eh?

I just spoke with a Tech (6am CDT is a good time to call). He said to expect 7-10 days, based on information he got this week, until the firmware upgrade to fix the caller id comes out. They're "working on it".

I was also having some echo issues, so the Tech adjusted Echo Control Settings on his side that will need to download to my router after the call and after the router "checks in". We'll see if that helps.

My spouse is quite unhappy about no caller id. We've had the service for a little over a month - and she's not thrilled with service so far. Yesterday's hour-long outage didn't help. No inbound or outbound calls. Mad It figures it would happen on her day off, while I was on a call with her.

If CID isn't resolved very soon, I may have to switch service back due to wife's insistence. Sad I have no argument when the service doesn't work as advertised.

Just tell her without caller id it's like a surprise everytime someone calls! Christmas everyday!

Or, tell her with all the extra money you will be saving part of it can be diverted to a day at the spa or something like that.

You just have to put it into terms she will understand... Wink Just kidding, the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) can be the trickiest part of the switch to Voip.

Its nuts!!! Mine cuts out about ever 5 minutes.

It terrifies me when I hear things like this. Fortunately, my wireless is working great with .52, but you always wonder if the next firmware upgrade will break it.

yea i have the WRTP54G....until .50 it worked great, it worked most of the time with .50 then with .52....I bascially have to keep it plugged in physically to the router for it to work right

its really frustrating....anyone ever tried speakeasy.net 's Voip? I wonder if its any good

I would wait the extra week for .55 and see if that corrects the problem.

I have the WRTP54G and since the firmware 'upgrade' from .50 to .52 I have had the following problems:

No CID (like everyone)
Message waiting indicator light no longer comes on.
Wireless DHCP no longer gives out IP addresses.

I sure hope .55 corrects these issues. I am starting to get annoyed.
