Apparently, they are overloaded due to their immense success. If that's the case then you (or a few more) won't make much difference.
Well I know you don't speak on behalf of
Vonage
, but if you did, I would cancel my service right this second. If I don't make a difference, then I can chose to spend my money elsewhere. If enough people decide they also don't "make a difference" the future of
Vonage
, or any other company isn't too bright. Fortunately, I think
Vonage
might not be quite as short sighted as to have an attitude such as that, so I'll keep my account active, but if I find a better offer in the meantime, I'll go with the provider that's just a little more "cutting edge". Just because
Vonage
may be focusing more on marketing and less on R & D, in no way makes them the best out there. That only makes them the winner of the popularity contest.
As for being a "tramp", well... I owe nothing to
Vonage
or anyone else I do business with unless there is a binding agreement in place. So like I said, if I find a better solution, I'll go with it. I think the technology of call blocking, rejection and filtering has been around long enough for
Vonage
to catch up with the rest of the world.

Skylooker,
Don't worry about the last few posts, they're just a couple of
Vonage
Groupies.
If the customer doesn't matter, then it's time to move on. No company I know of will last any length of time without the customer. It's not loyalty (if that's what the groupies are calling it), it's value.
Why should I stay with a company that doesn't put me first? There's a lot of good
Voip
co's out there with more features than
Vonage
.
Kick the
Vonage
pimp to the curve and go somewhere else. That's what I think I'm going to do. I've just about had it with them and their India-based "help-desk".

Correct, I don't speak on behalf of
Vonage
. And please don't take what I said the wrong way. I meant to say that
Vonage
won't suffer (much) even if you and I rant all along this thread.
I do believe that a little ranting is good. If nobody ranted, we'd still be living in caves (hint moderator?).
Yes, I have noticed marked degradation in quality of service in the past 2 months, to the point where I can't use my phone. It's completely unreliable. I once bragged about the fact that I could talk and talk for soooo little. Now, my family and friends laugh about it.
And I haven't changed a thing in my setup. I'd like to go back to the way it was last summer.
But so far, I haven't had any reasonable suggestion as to what I should do to resolve the issue.
Tomorrow the cable guy from Cox is coming. I'm switching ISP. First thing I'll try is a phone call.

Come on Dan! Just a little rant...
I'll be good and come back tomorrow with great news. I'm hoping the problem is with my ISP.

I think you missed my point. I have no problem with ranting, how could I?
What this forum takes issue with is "only rant" and "clearly no sought for a solution in the post". "If you are looking for help, we are here to help."
Thats all -
Oh boy, we went way off topic here - sorry.

I have three "Intelescreeners," and they work like a charms. Blocking by Area Code, Number, Name, Private, Out-Of-Area, Unknown... plus it can play "SIT" tones to fool people into thinking the number is no longer in service.

I have two of them on voice lines and one on my FAX. No more "junk faxes," or "Unidentified" numbers!

That's an interesting solution, but I'm more interested in something that can be managed directly through the
Vonage
web interface.

I agree. But until then, this works for me. This device is like a Caller-ID box on steroids!
Even
Voip
ACR has limits. "Unknown" calls still get through, etc. Not with Intelescreener!
Peace at last!
