I just refered a friend and after he ordered he cancelled because lingo offered call blocking. So
Vonage
is losing customers because of the lack of this feature. HELLO
Vonage
are you there? This seems like an easy an inexpensive festure to implement. Also I lost my 2 month credit for refering a friend.

Post subject: Call Rejection Feature
I was awakened a 8:00 AM this morning by a salesman that has been hounding me for years to buy term life insurance. Just can't get rid of the pest. It set me to thinking, "What was that feature that Qwest used to offer to refuse certain callers access to my phone?". Call Rejection I later found out on the Qwest website. They allow a short list of 10, 12, or 15 numbers. If a caller is found on the list, they get a polite "Get Lost" recording and are sent on their way. Yeah! I would really like to see
Vonage
add that feature. An email to Customer Care they will now get.

A black list would work too I guess. But a white list would be better for me because I have far fewer people I care about.
Anonymous should definitely go to the garbage can.
Forget about Customer care. As someone from

Not to be rude but that's not really an acceptable answer. It seems that there are enough people asking about this feature that there should be more indications of movement on Vonage's part. This was something I completely overlooked in evaluating the switch to
Vonage
. It frankly just never occurred to me that this feature would not be available. Very disappointed.

I may have found a few explanations why we don't have the feature yet:
1.
Vonage
is sponsored by Telemartekers
2. Under the regular plan,
Vonage
makes money by the minutes. The more you talk, the more you pay. Preventing you from talking would affect their bottom line.
3. Programming is outsourced to India. Nobody in the US can implement or even describe such a complex feature.
4. It is a really dumb idea. Not worth the effort.
5.
Vonage
is in the process of being acquired by AT&T. Not the time to innovate.

How about asking someone at
Vonage
rather than some totally unaffiliated forum?
Unaffiliated forum?

I do not work for Vonage... so let me say:
1 - Could be.. but hrmm don't think so.
2 - Nope.. they make money when you CALL.. not when you receive calls.. and even so only if you go over your plan of $14.95.. if you have unlimited calling they don't make money on you if you make 1 minute or 900 minutes of calls.
3 - Hrmm.... doubt that as well.
4 - Hrmm... doubt that as well
5 - Hrmm.. dunno.. I'd doubt it though.
To be honest it may be a limitation on XOs end. XO provides alot (all?) of the numbers for
Vonage
, and this may simply be some sort of interface issue, that they need to wait for XO to figure out. On the other hand, it may not be either.
