Post subject: local calls being long distance
Ok I will try and explain this the best I can and hopefully someone can help me a bit.A few weeks ago we got a
Vonage
adapter hooked it up got a new phone number everything worked great til my fiance went to work. When she tried to call home it turned out to be a long distance number so I called someone who lived further away and that was a local number to them.I called tech support they suggested a new phone number right in the area my fiance worked so I did that. Now she can't call me at all and someone who lives up the road can't either.
When I explained the situation to tech support they said get a new phone number so I said sure.Every number they try is "blocked" from the area.Calls from outside the area can come in fine but local people still can not call me.They went through a list of numbers that they were leasing from verizon and all blocked calls from the area. They told me a few days ago they would have it fixed in 1-2 hours and had it escalated to the engineering dept. Now when I call back they won't tell me the status of my ticket and say the engineering dept doesn't have a # to reach them.Have any of you ever had this problem and if so how long before they fixed the problem?Like I explained to them I will work with you as long as you keep me up to date and work with me but not knowing where it stands makes me wonder if i should cancel my service and go back to the monopoly the phone company has in my area.
