Hello,
My company is in Rochester, NY. Our ISP is Paetec and we have a dedicated T1 line directly to the building. We have 3 Vonage adapters - 1 Linksys RT31P2-VD (with 2 Vonage lines), and 2 Linksys RTP300's (each with 1 Vonage line). Our network looks like this:
T1 <--> Debian Linux server w/iptables <--> HP 48 port switch <--> Vonage adapters <--> Televantage server (via phone lines).
iptables allows all network traffic to pass through directly to each adapter.
We are primarily an outgoing call center, but we do have occasional incoming calls. We are using Vonage to save on long distance calls.
Our issue is if the external party on an incoming call hangs up after connecting to our Televantage server and is in the menus, Vonage does not terminate the call. Our server thinks the call is still in progress, and will record a message full of fast busy signal noise.
I've already spoken with Vonage customer support and they suggested turning off Call Waiting, which I've done, but the issue continues.
I know our system's quite old. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if there is a solution.
Thanks! Jason |

I've never used Televantage, but do you know what it is looking for to determine termination of the phone call? Loop-current drop? Loop-current reversal? Call progress tones? |
