PostPosted: Tue Oct 25, 2005 3:48 pm    Post subject: International Dialing "Lines are temporarily Busy" Reply with quote Back to top

Trying to call a friend in France and keep getting "Lines are temporarily busy, please try again later...0106" message. My int'l dialing is (and has been) enabled.

Called CS, and they said their servers are undergoing maintenance, so they can't see my account, please call back later.

My adapter is the PAP2, connected to WRT54G and Motorola Surfboard SB4100.

Anyone else with international dialing woes? Is it a temporary problem or something bigger?

Thanks in advance!

Resolved:
Continued to search and found that I needed to drop the leading zero on the city code - all is now good!!

I'll probably be dead and gone, but it will sure be nice when the number system goes away after some form of digital communications (a descendent of Voip) takes full control.

Excuse me, but somebody is trying to contact me on my telepathic implant. I need to go now.

I was calling the UK last week and got the same message. I then realized that you should NOT be dialing the 0 (or what ever number it is) in front of the "area code" and after the country code. I'm sure France's phone system works the same way. (I think almost everyone in the EU has the same type of phone network)
For example +44 (0)7777 777777
NEVER dial the number in (). Some people do not write numbers with (), so you just have to know. The actual way to dail the number above would be 011 44 7777 777777

Insert your own number and give it a try now and see if it dials. If not then the problem may fall on Vonage.
Hope I could help.

That's exactly right. Their 0 is the long distance dialling code. They need to use it in the UK. It's like our 1.

I'm not sure if that's your problem, but that will make a number undialable.

I believe the problem is with the extra digit (). However, shouldn't there be a "call cannot be completed as dialed" message instead of "circuits are busy"???

That is what threw me initially as well. The message did not get me to look at the number and make sure it was correct - I initially thought the problem was just what it was saying, network congestion - until never getting through.

I just tried that on a phone call to Penzance England. I have been trying to ring him off and on for a month and getting the, "all circuits busy" recording. Dialing 011 44 1736 xxxxx and he answered right up! Thanks for that information. I have been shrugging it off as bad Karma all the time. Of course it cost me $0.32 cents to talk to him for 8 minutes. How am I going to pay for all of this Question

I did see him in Tampa the 13th at the NAFTS reunion. That cost more then $0.32 cents but that's another story. I didn't see KDWycha though. Were you out of town? Lol
