Post subject: Who Do I Contact at Verizon NY to Find out Transfer Status?
Been over a month since we asked for a number transfer in NYC to
Vonage
, and so far all we have is "Transfer sent to carrier" on the
Vonage
website. First call to Verizon this morning (general customer service) and they say they have no record of a request, though the guy didn't seem to know much about what we are trying to do.
Any help on where in the Verizon entity we should inquire? Phone number? Email address? Should we cancel this transfer request and do it electronically? How do you request an electronic transfer?
Thanks.

It's not verizon causing the delay.
Vonage
contracts with a third party to do the number transfers and for whatever reason they don't do some of the transfers in a timely fashion. Just keep calling
Vonage
every couple days. They will "escalate" the call each time. I've been waiting since May for my transfer.

Yeah, 'escalate' in quotes is right. Just make sure you get a 'ticket' number (internal reference #) that was escalated to the 'LNP Escalations' Group at
Vonage
- and make sure it STAYS there!!
