I don't know what the deal is there, but roadrunner has gone out once in 4 years and I've never seen my cable out. granted, I don't watch tv a lot, but my tivo records a lot and I've never seen an issue, and obviously I am online a lot. I wonder if some inferior cable or cable burying is affecting your service. I am very impressed with BH here.

If I decide to leave still thinking about it I plan to leave in good standing. I called and was told I would owe $41.17 to close my account and if I wait until after 15th I will have to pay the month fee.
Someone told me this was due to a contract. I don't remember having a contract with
Vonage
. This person online told me to wait til my contract ends,
10/1 is nice and I have no issues with
Vonage
so I am not in a rush to leave. I would love 15/2 but, I really hate to leave if I have no issues,

Contract?
Vonage
advertises they have no contract. In fact I signed nothing other than a few checkmarks here and there. I guess they mean the Terms of Service. In the case of Terms of Service I can understand them asking you to wait. I could understand billing dates on a month basis. So I think the customer service agent used an incorrect term. Hopefully they will correct that script because that is how people get confused and upset.
I agree that leaving on good terms is best if you leave. I would want that too. I was just mentioning a last resort if things did not work out. You would still pay what you owe. It just gets them to talk to you.
I have been following the topic and I have one question that I probably overlooked. Why do you need the extra speed? Probably none of my business, but I looked at my Roadrunner service. I can pay an extra $20 a month and get a faster Roadrunner (Premium I think). But, I hadn't needed it. And I use
Voip
, VPN, PS2 games, etc. Is the cable company sure you don't have a local cable transmission issue they are not revealing? Hard to prove I guess if you did.

Yes. I've pointed this out before. I find it very disappointing that
Vonage
advertises- very prominently- that there are no annual contracts, but the TOS spells out a cancellation charge if you leave in less than a year. I'm not a lawyer, but to me that's a de facto one year contract.

Well, Wilma just proved my stance on cable's reliability, mainly lack thereof. As soon as the area lost power, Comcast's signal died... doesn't matter that I have full generator power, the amplifiers along the street are out, so no cable internet. Good 'ol ISDN & DSL are still working.
