I recently purchased a UTStarCom F1000 wi-fi Voip phone and have it setup with a 3rd party SIP service.. I heard that Vonage will be offering this phone in October..

i was wondering if anyone has any information on what the phone setters are?

ie. sip server etc..

With regular Vonage service, not sure, but you can subscribe to Vonage's SoftPhone service and they will give you all of the SIP settings, etc.

Hey Justin;
Where did you purchase your phone at? Vonage doesnt want to talk about when it will be availble for thier service. They probably have not told the agents on the phones yet.
Thanks.

For example, Vonage, which plans to sell the UTStarcom beginning in October, offers unlimited local and long-distance calls to the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for $24.99 a month. The phone will sell for $100, with in-store $50 rebates at major electronics stores

Now they might have it soon, but this is like the third date that was given first was 2nd Quarter, than 3rd, and than before end of year, now October. I hope they mean October of 2005 and not October 2006+ lol. Doesn't say what year

they just gave out a pack of the wifi phone to some techs here (not me though Rolling Eyes )

They were all running arund the building lke kids with walkie talkies, the phone is very light and is simple enough to use, you can set it up for different networks and their resepctive security settings. For some reason I thought it would be a wi-fi cellphone hybrid but I was wrong...so wrong. Well maybe the next phone.

For 100 bucks this thing could be sweet if you are in wifi areas a lot of the time. If you had neighbors with unsecured wireless networks, well...

Well looks like Vonage will miss yet another date to release the WIFI phone. First was like april, than summer, than beginning 4th quarter, than and most recent beginning October. Well it is now 10/31/05 at 8:33am if they don't release it TODAY October has come and gone and another deadline promised and another deadline missed. But on Vonage side they never did say what year the October was that they will release it.

It's a shame when other providers give the option of having WiFi phones and all Vonage does is miss promised release dates even release dates posted in the media. After all look online and it you will see Vonage first with WiFi well turns out they weren't some of the other companies beat them to it. Also beat them to ACR, Call blocking and tons of other features as well as local calling to more countries also. Come on Vonage WAKE UP!!!!! before you start losing people to the other providers that actually offer things that we have asked for since day one.

Blanked out the name of the Voip for the fourm, but it is out there and just checked they are even releasing the second generation of the phone now. Vonage hasn't even gotten the first one out yet.
