Post subject: Looking for tips to improve set-up
Have been with
Vonage
for about 5 months and just discovered this site! I have been mostly happy, but have a couple of questions that hopefully some of you can answer:
1. Improve quality of calls in particular the initial delay...I have to say hello 2-3 times at the beginning of every call. Did the
Voip
online test:
4.99meg down
806kbps up
QOS 99%
However, still get the quality issues. My set-up is Rogers Extreme internet modem into WRT54G router. 1 port off router to PAP2 adapter. In router set-up, have set the PAP2 port to high availbility in QOS. Any ideas on improving set-up? Is there an adapter that has a passthrough so I could put the
Voip
between the modem and the router? Because the PAP2 only has the LAN port I have to place it after the router. You can definitely hear sound issues with ANY downloading.
2. Have Bell Expressvu 9200 hooked up to wireless jack. I plug a regular phone in and make calls fine. However receiver cannot dial out. Other members here have posted that the bell number is used on
Vonage
now...so how can I get my receiver to work?..what is this *99 function?
Thanks for anyone's input!

Post subject: Vonage delay with PAP2
I spoke with a
Vonage
tech and indeed there is an issue with the PAP2 and a Linksys wrtg router.
I was having the same problem using a SAT connection, the problem is being dealt with
Vonage
development with no current fix delivery schedule.
