Ok, Vonage (and Voip) newbie here and am pleasantly surprised. Had it for a day now and have had excellent quality and excellent service. This blows my land line away big time, right down to the call clarity and absence of background noise.
Keep up the good work!

I've had Vonage for about a year now.
Service has been excellent - the only outages I've suffered were easily rectified and most of the time it was an issue on my end, not Vonage's.
Even my LNP went through with flying colors. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I transfered from Verizon (Formerly Bell Atlantic, and before that NYNEX, and before that New England Telephone.) and I invoked the PUC in my state to be sure the bovine effluvia was kept to a minimum. |

Welcome Pianotech...that name sounds vaguely familiar....
I think as long as you have a solid ISP, Vonage can not be beat |

kd1s,
Thanks for the reply. Good to hear you're happy with the service too. I didn't port my number yet, figuring I would go through the trial first and see how it is. Will likely be porting soon though.
Trowski,
Ha...you sound strangely familiar too! Fortunately, Adelphia is rock solid here, which can only help. |

Pianotech,
Word of caution to you. If you don't port your number over (I think within the first 30 day), then they will charge you $9.95 (plus tax) to do it later. That happened to me, however, because I pitched a fit, they went ahead and charged me but then credited my account. Couldn't complain about that. Needless to say, the CS rep told me that anytime you make a change to your account (add a new line, add softphone option, etc.) they charge a $9.95 "change" fee. If you ask me, that's a lot of money for doing something that takes 5 minutes with the click of a mouse. Anyways......... |

Thanks for the heads up, Sorento. Most likely I won't be porting my number. This is a replacement for my wife's land line. Her number is a recycled Verizon number, and she gets calls constantly from bill collectors that are intended for the people who had the number before her. So, I'll be keeping the new number that was issued by Vonage instead. |

Welcome to the world of savings so you can still buy gasoline. I've had zero problems with my Vonage and my Voip. Can't say that for my trips to the gas station. |

Heh..some people think they are too bright, which I could see, but mine is in the living room, so it makes a nice nightlight... |

I've been on Vonage for almost 2 weeks now, and I'm also happy to say I pleased with it so far. I have a pretty reliable ISP and I bought a UPS just for the adapter and cable modem in case the electricity goes out. I figure it will give me a few hours of uptime if the power ever goes out. |
