I have been having this issue with the rtp300 for quite some time.
everytime i start to download something and i am on a call the person on the other end states that my voice is very choppy. i tried the bandwidth saver from high to low and still same effect. i was told to get a router so that way it will spread the bandwidth out evenly.
well i did just that bought a router yesterday a linksys WRT54G hoping that it will correct the problem. well it hasn't.
i have my cable modem pluged into the wrt54g and then my rtp300 pluged into the router and my computer pluged into another port on on the WRT54G. i tried the QoS on the router and set the rtp300 as a priority and still choppy it then slowed my connection down to a crawl.
please help me i am pulling my hair out over this thing. do i have to have the router to make it spread the bandwidth out evenly? i am truly lost here. thanks copen45 |

After many many calls to support, I now give up on my choppy audio problem. Everything has been tried. It's probably the ISP (Adelphia). I called Adelphia and they said they have problems with their servers which would explain the choppy Voip, but who knows. And even if they clear it up, it's likely to happen again.
I am no longer convinced that Voip works well enough yet. There are SO many variables which can trip it up. And when you try to investigate it, there is fingerpointing between Voip and ISP providers.
Too much for me. I can't play detective two hours a day. I have had enough and will go back to Verizon. Oh well. |

Actually, I have two lines with Vonage. The problems all started when I added the second line. I am keeping the first line with Vonage, so the adventure continues. |

Are you getting the choppy audio on both lines or only on one? |
