I keep on losing connection/disconnects when set to 90 and even on the 50Kbps. So, I've set my Bandwidth saver to normal 30Kpbs this time. Any disadvantage at all? Anyone doing this too?

Btw, I 've got a strong connection though from Road Runner, 4.7Mbps download and 300+kbps upload. My connection, Cable Modem>Netgear Wireless Router > RTP300

I had used 30 kbps previously, I currently use 50 kbps. I never had a problem hearing people on the 30 kbps but since I was using it while my internet was having problems with upload the people had a hard time hearing me on the other side. About all you can do is try it out, maybe call yourself and see how you sound.

Do you have the ports forwarded on your Netgear router for Vonage to the RPT300? I am asking because this was one of my problems when I had to use 30 kbps that was causing my voice quality to suck and me not to be able to dial out everytime.

Using a lower bandwidth saver setting reduces voice quality. That is only a disadvantage if you notice the lower quality.

Based on your posted connection speed you should not need to turn it down, I would suggest you run the test at testyourvoip.com to Boston preserving voice quality and post your detailed results.

Do you have a lot of other traffic on your connection from file sharing or computer games?

I would try connecting CABLEMODEM -> RTP300 and trying it without the wireless router. If it works then you know there is some sort of issue with the wireless router config.
