With all respect to the REN theory it does not work in my case. I unplugged a corded phone and verizon CID box (they were in line) then unplugged an oldeer cordless phone which only leaves one cordless phone - a motorola 761 with a REN of .1 and Caller Id is still less than 100%. For me Caller ID is still not working. Where is .58 ?
Honestly I cannot take much more of this.

Given your testing, obviously REN is not the issue in your case, nor does it appear to be a bad phone. I assume you've eliminated house wiring by plugging a known good CID device directly into the adapter, so I guess your case is a valid gripe. Keep buggin'
Vonage
on that one, I guess.

Natehoy your suggestion inspired me to look deeper into my problem and it may be fixed (I believe it is)
Obviously I did not even consider the wiring so I took an old phone and connected it to the RTP300 with 100% Caller ID. Then it hit me - I never disconnectted the computer internal modem. FYI the computer was on during last test but not with every test although I cant confirm this. Then I noticed that the corded phone in my sons room is REN=1.0 - I turned off that ringer and disconnected the modem and all is much much better. Probably 100% perfect. I apologize for ranting and ssuch and thank Nate for the suggestion. Guess I get to keep
Vonage
after all.

No problem.
Large cash donations, from you or
Vonage
(or even a router capable of decent Internet loads from Vonage), can be sent to..
Ah, who am I kidding? LOL.

You must have missed some of the message traffic. People are still having issues.

Im currently running version .55 andstill having CID problems. It was working about 75% until I received the firmware upgrade, now it almost never works. Defianately less than the 50% success rate that others here are reporting.

I'm currently showing 100% for my CallerID rates (going by the last 10 phone calls, been a slow day). I wonder what they screwed up (and why they messed with it).

After .55 it looks like my Caller ID is doing okay but the voicemail light isn't coming on. Still a little garbled like .52. Also, .52 caller ID and voicemail light didn't work.
****... I backed up .50 and .55. So far out of the three (including .52) mine seems to do better with .50. Looks like time to restore to .50.

Your CID is 100% good or 100% bad??
I don't think
Vonage
messed up anything with 55. They did mess up CID with 52. They did that trying to fix other things- short ring being one of them. I think 55 is a step in the right direction. If I understand the traffic, many, but not all, got improved CID with it. Unfortunately, I'm one of the ones who still has issues.
