Forgive me for asking this but I am not very savvy tech person. I have been having the same issues as everyone else on this thread. Could someone explain what I will need to do once the new firmware is released? And when will I know it has been released? Thanks!
You shouldn't have to do anything. You should get the update automatically, and if the new software performs as hoped, your service will just start working correctly. You can tell if you have the update by opening your router web page and looking in the upper right corner (assuming an RTP300). You'll see the software version there.

Does anyone know if we will be getting this firmware update in the UK? Also, will it do anything to UK caller id or just the US version (as ever, we have a different standard in the UK!)?
I have pretty good caller id on my phones but a modem of mine which identified caller id 100% of the time on my Telewest line is very unreliable on
Vonage
. One thing I noticed is that on the occasions the modem detects caller id, it reports 'RING' before I hear the phones in the house ringing. When it doesn't get caller id it only detects the ring AFTER all the phones have rung. Think I'm going to try a modem cable that includes the ringer line, see if that helps.
As ever, any other suggestions appreciated. Out of interest, my INF is fine (I think) - no uninterpretted commands when I look in the modem log.

To the best of my knowledge, the Caller ID issue being discussed here only affects the Texas Instruments chipset terminal adapters, such as the RTP300 & WRT54GP. It might affect the Uniden IP phones as well, but I've not played with those yet, but they run on a TI chipset as well. I believe the
Vonage
UK service still uses the older generation adapters based on Sipura chipsets, and have been lead to believe that this issue does not affect those units. Also, UK Caller Display has a different protocol than the US Caller ID.

I believe the main ATA supplied to the UK customers is the Linksys RTP31P2, do you know what chipset this uses? You are corect regarding the different format of CLI for the UK.

I think that is the Sipura chipset.

TWO WEEKS of no incoming caller ID-(and no firmware upgrade) - first post was on 10/13- This is really getting old. Have
Vonage
almost three months and just about got wife to accept it and now no caller id. I can only use excuse "they're working on it" for so long. The excuse of the Hurricane was lame at best. That only affected a small portion of the US which
Vonage
covers. CMON
Vonage
PUSH the .55 firmware before you lose customers.

My caller ID's been working fine over the past couple of days.... try power-cycling your
Vonage
terminal adapter and see if it makes a difference. Let us know what happens either way..

powered on/off RTP-300 and caller ID worked one time then nada.
I have power cycled the ATA so many times it should have frequent power cycling mileage (OK made it up on the fly).
Time to call tech support.

Or just be patient and don't throw a **** fit over CallerID. I'm still totally without landline phone service (day #5...C'mon Sprint, I could have learned & deployed Asterisk in 5 days).... this is on top of the 4 days they were out earlier this year. I still haven't had a total outage with
Vonage
yet. I think I've had 1-2 calls not go through, and that was many months ago when I was just starting with
Vonage
.
