yep, it's working now, so it seems. The last 10 incoming calls had Caller ID, so we'll see what happens. Still surprised we've not seen a firmware update out by now. Does anyone have any info on any future firmware updates coming out?
Based on your experience, I called CS. First, there are WAY too many options, but after getting through about 5 levels of menu, a HUMAN BEING actually answered INSTANTLY. Way to go,
Vonage
!
Anyway, the rep was very nice, very helpful, and said that there was an easy fix to patch until the new firmware came out.
He asked me how many phones I had, and whether I used house wiring. I answered 2 phones and yes to the house wiring. (tappety tappety tap) "OK."
He changed something, which took like 10 seconds, and asked me to restart the adapter and he'd call back in 2-3 minutes. I restarted the adapter, and had a few "ohcrap" moments while the adapter struggled to reacquire, dropped the phone light, brought it back up, etc. It came up after an extra minute or so, and he called back right on schedule.
He called me three times, and I got clean Caller ID each and every time. I don't know what he changed - I didn't ask.
I do know that I did not get a firmware update, but some form of configuration setting. But it worked, and Level 1 seems to have it in their scripts now. The entire process took maybe 5 minutes.
PS: I asked about the firmware release date. He said that the CURRENT schedule, with no promises, was to have the new release out on the 16th December.
This is for a WRTP54G, but the RTP300 seems to release firmware on or around the same dates.

Hi everybody with caller ID problems. Unfortunetly, I haven't had the time to actually call CS due to not being home for the past few weeks, but I've been following this topic.
I had emailed CS last week and got a reply that they did make some changes. After power-cycling and calling in a few times, it worked, then stopped.
Deciding to try logging onto the device using the "default" IP (192.168.15.1) address...er...the address is not found.
Anyone?
Ambit DOCSIS Cable Modem, Speedstream Router/WAP with print server, Linksys RTP300, accessing through a Mac running 10.4.3 using Safari and Firefox.

Ok, seems as though I am having the same problem. No caller id on any phone. I emailed
Vonage
and they stated that they did a config change on the router. I rebooted and still have the problem. It seems as though they won't answer emails now.
What is the number to call CS? Maybe I will have better luck with that. The wife wants to switch back to Bell but I would rather not since they have raised my rate three years in a row.

Is your PC plugged into the Speedstream or to the
Vonage
router? You'll only be able to access the
Vonage
router through 192.168.15.1 if your PC is plugged directly into one of its LAN ports. There IS another different way to access it if you're connected to the Speedstream instead, but its a little more complex. Let us know.

My thought is that for a firmware update to fix this they will have to add configuration settings asking such things as the number of phones, use of house wiring, etc. or at least give the user something to tweak to their particular phone network situation.
My CID usually works, but I hear about it when it doesn't. My wife likes to know who is calling....

I just got of the phone with tech support. This is the second time they have had to fix my Caller ID in two weeks time. Hopefully this time is for good. Still on 1.00.55 firmware.
I asked about when the new version was comming out. He said the newer firmware was now in final stages of testing. I asked hime what version number it was and he said it was going to be 1.00.61 or 1.00.66. He couldn't say for sure when it would be released.

You heard final stages of testing, I heard the 16th December - either way it'll be here soon. Dunno whether to be hopeful or scared.

Mac is plugged into the Speedstream router, another Mac is wireless into the Speedstream router, as well as a parallel printer into parallel port (which is one of the reasons I have it set up this way). So, Ambit Cable Modem to Speedstream Router, with one mac on a network port, one mac wirelessly, and our favorite Linksys RTP300 all plugged into the Speedstream Router.
Thanks!

what about CID going outbound? When I call someone else, my number shows on their CID but not my name. Is that how it works with
Vonage
or should my name show too?
