There's this neat-o feature that has recently been added to vonage's bells and whistles-- it's called SimulRing.

Basically it's a tweaked version of call forwarding in the sense that it integrates the BlastMe option popular in the call hunt feature into it. What sets it apart from regular call-forwarding is that it rings both the Primary line and the number where the call is forwarded to.

Im now just wondering how useful this new feature is.

I'll go check out the website right now.

This would be helpful for me, as I want to have my Vonage line be primary, but I want to use a POTS line as a rollover number (like a hunt group between the two).

I want to use Vonage voicemail for both, and I think this will let me do that.

If Line 1 is busy, hopefully it will ring to the forwarded number for 20 seconds then be pulled back to Vonage VM.

If Line 1 is empty, both lines would ring, and would go to voicemail within 20 seconds.

If both lines are busy, it would go to voicemail immediately.

This is exactly what i need, and couldn't do it with what was there before.

We'll see.

Well, looking at his signature, I'd say he is just making it up.

This "Feature" is active. To access it go to your "Configure call forwarding" page and scroll down to the bottom.

There you will see that a new line has been added for this feature.

Hehe. I really thought the original poster was just being an ass. This is a really great feature. I guess he wanted to hog it all to himself.

Has anyone got this feature to work properly?

I just tried having it ring both my home phone and my wifes' cell phone, but when I called home, only her cell phone rang. I told her not to answer it and called again and my call did go through to voice mail, so it appears to be partially working...

I tried all this within minutes of making the change, so I'm going to wait an hour or so and try again to see if Vonage's server just needs a bit of time to reset everything.
