Ever since the update I seem to be having two seperate problems... one is more of a pain than the other is.

On my adapter, I have two lines. On the first line, when I place or receive a call, it will sometimes just drop the call between 1 and 2 minutes. It's an intermittent problem.... sometimes it'll happen on several calls in a row, other times it'll happen once and not happen again for hours. I'm starting to wonder if it's dropping a critical data packet somewhere along the way, yet any tests I run on my connection show no or very minimal packet loss. This problem only happens on the first line.... I haven't used the second line enough to notice if it's happening there too.

On the second line, the caller ID will just randomly stop working. It'll work for a while, then die out. I'll restart the adapter, and it'll work again. Mind you, this problem only happens on the second line. Every call that has come in on the first line has shown the ID as it should.

On the old 50 update, I was having the problem where I'd be on a call and randomly get a busy signal part way through.... the dropped call problem with the 52 update seems to just be the same thing, just without a busy signal.

Update - Before I totally forget (or before someone asks) - I have my adapter behind another router... This is actually my second Vonage router/adapter, as my first appeared to short out (couldn't access half the websites on the internet, yet when the computer went straight to the modem, all worked fine... not to mention the adapter was incredibly hot). I wanted to play it safe this time, so I have a Motorola router now handling my computers with the Vonage adapter connected through that. The problems I am currently experiencing have occured while using this type of setup, but have also occured with a standard "Cable modem -> Vonage adapter/router -> computers" setup.

I ran fine for about four days and then had two wireless drops in a row on my WRTP54G this morning. During some organization of power and ethernet, I unplugged the unit for about 10 minutes and then the issue went away - so far.

My caller ID works every time and I don't drop calls even when they go on for 3-4 hours.

With the upgrade to 1.00.52 on my WRTP54G, I'm happy to report that my long standing "short ring" problem is now gone and the recent problem of hearing a busy signal on my home answering machine after the caller hangs up is also gone.

Unfortunately, my Caller ID remains intermittent. I've cold started the router and reset the router, but Caller ID is hit or miss (in the past month, more miss than hit). I've been patiently waiting for the miracle firmware upgrade...hope it comes soon.

Vonage insists that I have ver 1.00.52 whereas my Linksys WRTP54G still says the same thing it has from day one, 1.00.18. Who should I believe? Anyone else have this experience?

If you don't see 1.00.52 it doesn't sound like you have everything because the html pages are updated to reflect the proper version #. I assume you have tried all the basic things like hard reset etc... If it were me personally I would ask for a replacement router.

yeah new router - something is not right with that thing. When you do the update it should update the HTML in the router. Just get hold of version 52 firmware and do the upgrade yourself.

or better yet wait until the new version .55 coming out soon
being tested now...

tentative release date FRIDAY

We've been discussing this on another thread- "Anyone else having trouble with Caller ID?" Some users have had Vonage fix it by calling and asking them to change their ring cadence setting from 0xFFFFF00000000000 to 0xFFFFFCC000000000 . I haven't gotten around to that yet. If you haven't called the problem in, please do. They need to hear it again and again until they get this right.

Any idea what the changes are in .55?

It has a higher number, so that means it's better...right?

LOL no, it's supposed to mainly address the caller ID issue.

Whenever I ask a 'superior' for a version history I get a look like as if they were a 'special' person seeing a ferris wheel for the first time. kind of mix between Eek and Confused
