In an ideal Voip world and I think we'll get there one day soon POTS and Voip should have the exact same end user behavior all the way down to the echo issues, ring cadence, volume etc etc etc.... Apples to Apples... Panasonic to Panasonic, Tru to Tru.

I noticed my RTP300 was upgraded automatically to 1.00.52 this week. I haven't done anything to it (no reboot of any kind) and already I've noticed I have a more normal ring cadence now (as opposed to the short bursts before). It seems like they also fixed the fast busy after a caller hangs-up. I made a phone call this afternoon, the other end hung up, and for the longest time I had silence and then a REAL fast busy signal (different sounding tone) came on the line to let me know to "hang up the phone, you idiot". Also, the voice quality seems to be still ROCK SOLID. Quite impressed with my RTP300!

Also, I've got my Vonage phone line hooked up to an AT&T 957 phone and for the FIRST TIME ever, my New Call light flashes whenever I've received a new call (just stayed lit constantly with Verizon), ALSO, my Voice Mail Waiting Indicator on the phone WORKS!!!!! I could not believe it!!! And finally, the phone handles the 11-digit caller ID without any problems (it just drops off the 1 in front). YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm happy! Lol

Go to the router/adapter browser page and you'll see the firmware version in the upper right corner.

yeah go ahead get one off of ebay. Then you find out that

1. The previous owner of the router racked up 1 million billion dollars in overseas phone calls on that device that you want associated with YOUR account now....

2. The router is the right model, but the owner actually had bought it for some other Voip provider than Vonage, and so the MAC address is not in our inventory, so we can't ever add it.

3. At best, the mac will be in the Vonage inventory, but on someone else's account, so a tier3 mac swap will need to be done anyway.

The only way a device bought from ebay would be a good idea, would be if you were CERTAIN this device had never been activated
and said Vonage on the box.

"No way, not me man!"
"Yeah you - hold still!"

I hear ya but I couldn't pass on a $16 deal all-in-one router. If it works great... if not, i'm out 16 big ones.

Has any one had problems with remote management since upgrading to .52? It was been working fine for me, but since .52 it hangs loading the first page after I log in.

Update - Never mind. Its seems to be working fine now.
