PostPosted: Tue Oct 11, 2005 7:29 pm    Post subject: Sony SVR 2000 and WRTP54G Reply with quote Back to top

i got Vonage service about 3 or 4 months ago and when first set it up i put dsl filters on both my tivos - they worked well for about a month and now my SVR 2000 never works and my DirecTivo works intermittently.

on the SVR2000 when i go in to make the daily call manually, it dials and gets to the point where it says its downloading but then every time it will stop at some point and say call interrupted. whats going on there? i am using the 212 number that people keep talking about on here. I am not using the call waiting prefix because when i tried that it would not even get a dial tone.

can someone please help? without being able to make these calls my tivo is basically useless.

bdee, please look at the other posts in this forum for fixes others have gotten to work. If you don't have any luck, look for the PPP adapter fix (again, look in the forum for this). The last resort is going back to a landline.

Good Luck,

wow that **** - i have looked through the forums already and all i was able to find was the following:
1) changing to the 212 area code
2) using a call waiting dialing prefix
3) using a standard dialing prefix

none of these really work for me

and using the ppp adapter (if i remember correctly) requires me to connect the tivo to a nearby computer and have the computer dial out - that is not an option for me because there is no nearby computer.

and i am sure not going back to a landline.

the thing i just don't understand is this:
when i add the suggested call waiting prefix it wont even dial out at all. for instance if i pick up my phone and dial *66 (i think that was the prefix recommended here) my phone immediately gives a busy signal before i can dial the phone number. so how is everyone else getting that to work?
