I have a BT business 2MB connection and connect to the net with a D-link ADSL 604+ wireless 4 port modem/router. It gives out ips to a few ibooks and a pc via DHCP in the 192.168.2.0 range. The modem/router authenticates with BT by pppoa.
How do I set up the RT31P2 to work with what I have?
When I called the Vonage helpline (in india) the guy insisted that it was nothing to do with authentication or the linksys having a different ip setup than my router (I think it is), he said I had the wrong power adaptor (the linksys one that came with, yea right). I hung up and called again,
I was then told by an American guy I couldn't use my router, I had to get a modem that did pppoe and passed authentication to the linksys. I don't think this is correct, can one of you guys help me out.
Many thanks

Have you tried the options provided on the vonage.co.uk site under Help -> Installation? |

I used to have BT untill last month but use the BT Voyager 2100 wireless modem/router
i used to have problems connecting to Vonage with the RT31P2 and got help from an american tech to bridge connections and disable the router part of my modem but i needed my modem to be a router again so i had reset it and for some strange reason it still works now the way it was set up before when it didnt work.
i have my RT31P2 plugged into the one of the ports on my modem and i have the RT31P2 set to obtain and IP Address automatically and this works fine with me now |

I would leave your existing setup as it is and plug the linksys into a spare port on your existing router. Connectec the WAN port of the linksys to a LAN port on the Dlink.
All I would do then is find the QOS setting on the existing Dlink as assign highest priority on a MAC address basis to you linksys MAC address.
Altohugh the following link is for a different wireless router the principle will be the same, I use the second option i.e in your case ADSL > Dlink > Linksys
