I have been with Vonage for a couple years now, and I'm really starting to reach a breaking point with them.

I, like many here, have been patiently awaiting ACR and Call blocking. With every single useless feature added, such as, phone news and voicemail to text; I get more and more upset with them. To me it is a slap in the face to us all. Where in this forum did we, the customers of Vonage, state that we were dying to have those features added? All it tells me is that Vonage is out of touch with their customers and are choosing to live in their own little bubble.

The reason I would cancel is not really because of me, but because of my folks. They also have Vonage, and because of some financial problems with my younger brother, they are barraged by bill collectors day in and day out. They are practically begging me to find a way of getting the calls to stop for them. And ever since a neighbor with verizon told them that Verizon offers this service, I am constantly asked when Vonage is going to add this service, as I'm the one that switched them to Vonage.

The fact is, if I switch my folks to Sunrocket, then I'll be switching as well.

It just irks the hell out of me that Vonage could care less about a feature that should have been available long ago. And what a selling point it could be! "Sign up now and block those unwanted calls right now from your computer."

Please Vonage, no more BS features! They're like a slap in the face to those of us that want a useful feature such as this. Listen to your customers and give us what we want. This is not an unreasonable request.

I will have more info on this but it may be out as early as next week. This is both ACR and DND.

Let's just say I have something to do with it. I have been fighting to put this out for a while and I am very close. The features will be very basic initially and perform as follows:

1) ACR - The ability to turn on/off anonymous call rejection. This will be either all the time or none of the time.

2) DND - The ability to tturn on/off do not disturb either all of the time or none of the time (there is no setup for having it enabled during certain times of the day or days of the week as of yet). If you have voicemail enabled when you turn it on, all calls will go directly to voicmail (including anonymous even if it is turned on). If you don't have voicmeail enabled, the caller will hear a message stating the calle is not accepting calls at this time.

When I have more info on its release, this forum will be the first to know.

If I recall correctly (and maybe I am wrong), but I read some where that by May 2007 that all Voip providers supposed to have some form of basic acr or call filtering. I can't find the article - it's a few months hold.

I certainly hope you are correct! Many have been waiting so long for this. I wonder why it is taking so long to impliment this?

I gave up waiting for ACR and went with ViaTalk. Sorry Vonage, but about 2 1/2 years without ACR was too much.

Yeah, that is a long time. Still having doubts if we will see it anytime soon. I'll never understand why they just wont make this feature available.

Still no ACR. I'm not surprised. What is it taking so damn long? This feature is not rocket science!

Yea, after the initial month or two I was pretty happy with Vonage's service. However, the ACR was big. Yout have several different things with ACR and ViaTalk (Busy, Voicemail, Authentication, Disable, or Not Allow) Via Talk also has the custom caller ID feature which is nice. Eg. 555-555-1234 can show up as "Wife's Cell" on caller ID.

I'm surprised Vonage doesn't/hasn't created these type of features.
