If Voange is down for some reason at home , i want my calls to be forwarded to my Cell number. How can we do it ?...i saw that option couple of months back in 'Features' page of my account.
I want to forward the call only if Voange/internet is down.
thanks Ron |

That's the "Network Availability Number." It does exactly what you're asking -- automatically forward to a number in the event of a network problem, power failure, or whatever. As soon as your Vonage is back up, the forwarding stops. Very cool.
Sign into your Vonage account, click the Features link, and you'll see it near the top-right.
Hope that helps. |

Well, but we need to be specific here...
If Vonage is down, it wouldn't matter if you have network availability number configured or not. There would be no network there to respond to the incoming call.
If your connection to Vonage, your power or your TA dies then the network availability network availability number takes over and sends the call where you tell it to. I typically use this I disconnect my TA and take it somewhere.
The veterans of voice get this but it might not be apparent to those who are newer to the technology.

I'm wondering about this feature though. I set my Network Availability Number to ring my land line in the event that my internet or power is out. I don't have call forwarding enabled.
The call rolls over to my land line even if the Vonage line is simply busy in use, sort of like a "call forwarding if busy." Should that be? |

The network availability number should NOT ring on just an in-service busy. It should only ring on the assigned availablity number when Vonage can't connect to your TA. A busy signal, or voicemail should be the end result of an in-service busy. Are you certain you don't have a number configured in regular call forward? What you describe sounds as though the system believes you do, even if you don't see it in your configuration screen. |

Hi Chris and thanks for the reply. I double-checked, andd it's definitely configured in the NAN section. My call forwarding is disabled since it's a feature I don't use. |

Interesting....Do you have Voicemail enabled? If not you might want to enable it to test if it routes to vm when busy. Since you don't have call forward enabled, it does sound like the system believes you do. You might also want to enable call forward, test that it works, then disable to see if that doesn't clear up the problem. If not, you're due for a call to CS. |

Something to remember is that Call Forwarding (Simulring included) has priority over Network Availability... so if you already have a call forwarding scheme set up & active, that's what Vonage will do when your terminal adapter's nowhere to be found on the network. |
