Just curious if there is anyone out there who subscribes to a DTV sports package (Center Ice, MLB, NFL etc) and does not have regular DTV/Tivo dial outs? I had been using the serial connection method to make my daily calls with my Tivo, but have been getting pretty lazy about that. A few days ago I switched everything over to dial out via Vonage, but as previously discussed, I along with others am getting an extremely high number of calls per day. Since I am on the 500 minute plan, the large volume of calls is quickly eating up my minutes. I am wondering if I should move over to the unlimited plan and let the two units dial out many times per day or if I would be OK only doing manual call ins every couple weeks. I am just not sure how often the calls need to be made, but I do know DTV says without the calls it could affect my sports subscription. Thoughs or ideas? Thank you Robert |

i have three non tivo directv units and one tivo s/2 unit, none of which are connected to a phone line and my MLB and March Madness subscriptions work fine. However, once a year, I do hook them to a non-vonage line and have them phone home. Never had any issues. |
