So uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... you're available now? *gets slapped* Oops sorry, you were posting about the phone situation. Yeah Vonage doesn't care where you live. That's part of the appeal I find in our little community here, that you don't HAVE to have an address- just a billing address that matches the one on your credit card and a shipping address where they can send a device.
But with your situation, where you're not the account name, account administrator, don't have access to the account's email, which means you can't reset the password to the login to change all that stuff, and you're not the one paying for it.... as far as Vonage is concerned YOU might be the estranged one trying to mess with the innocent one's account. If the account is in your name would you want your ex to be able to call up and say "Hi, this is Gaylord Merriweather the Third*. My account is in Cookie L. Jackson**'s name but I have an electric bill with the same address, proving my residency, so I want you to switch the account ownership to me!" Then he could put an offensive voicemail greeting and order 400000 new lines at a cost of $29.99 each and set your call forwarding to Japan so you get charged for every incoming call and your callers get "Moshi moshi?" when they call you. So yeah, it's inconvenient for you but when you do sign up for your new account (sorry to see you're losing your old phone number by the way) this will protect you. Sad that right now it's "Protecting" him. Also thanks for making me feel like a WINNER because I'll never be as big of a jerk-wad as your ex-fiancé!
*Idiot ex-fiancé's name changed. Maybe. **Not Cookie's real last name. Any relation to any cookies, living or dead, is purely coincidental. But Cookie L. Jackson sounded cooler than any other potential last name. Say it out loud! Cookie L. Jackson, Cookie L. Jackson, Cookie L. Jackson... a name with a beat |
