Here are two more unreachable numbers from the Toronto area. 611 is Bell repair, not working, although OK from my Bell phone. and 416 310 2355 Bell Client Rep.l wonder if Bell is using call display to block the calls from a
Vonage
phone?

611 calls would typically be unroutable between carriers. Here is some information from Bell South intended for CLECs setting up interconnection.
Quote:
611 Customized Routing – This field allows the CLEC to select SCR to its own platform for its end user dialed 611 calls. 611 represents BellSouth’s repair line for retail users in the states of Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. This capability is only offered in these states and applies only to Self Branding OS/DA. Select “Yes” if 611 SCR is desired and “No” if it is not.
(SCR is Selective Call Routing)
There is probably not a way to have
Vonage
connect you with Bell's repair service by dialing 611. In fact I have long believed you should be able to contact
Vonage
customer care by dialing 611.

310 numbers are special local numbers and have been
discussed
previously under the topic of pizza delivery. Area code should not be required when dialing a 310 number from a PSTN phone.

dialing 310 plus the 4 digit number gets the message "No routes found". What is PSTN?

Public Switched Telephone Network.
611 won't work for sure - it routes differently depending on the phone company/LEC you're using. If you use a Rogers Telecom (ex-Sprint) line, 611 will reach Rogers repair. I'm surprised that 611 doesn't route to
Vonage
CS.
310-xxxx are special numbers that route depending on your location. The chances of them working on
Vonage
are not very likely. Primus TBB works with 310 numbers, not sure how they get them to work.

What is the point of posting individual toll free 8xx numbers that don't work? The problem as I understand it is that
Vonage
calls originate from the US so ANY Canadian toll free 8xx numbers not accessible from the US will obviously not work.

For now,
Vonage
is fixing numbers on a one-by-one basis until they fix the switching issue.

I haven't seen any proof that they are even doing that. None of my requests have been dealt with.

I just checked two of the previously posted numbers. One of them worked. It was Starchoice Calgary, an 866 number. Maybe something is happening.
