toll free numbers were fixed, but now not working. I tele-filed my taxes last month, I tried to call the toll free number yesterday to check the status and I was told that the number can't be dialed from this area. I never tried the local access number.
Well I tried to call Revenue Canada today and it worked. I called the 1800 for HP Canada and it worked. I called my natural gas toll free number and it worked.
Try the HP number again and see if it is working. I am not sure why numbers were working yesterday.
I just tried it, 1-800-HP-INVENT, and got Spanish prompts. It does not work for me. I have not gotten this number to work at all for the past year.
I called the Toronto V-Access number 416-848-3732 and entered 8004746836#, I got Spanish prompts. Note that when I entered 18004746836# (placed a 1 in front), I got a fast busy.
So, it does not work for me and the "temporary solution" does not work for me. I advised Customer Support via email this morning.
Hmmm, not sure what to tell you. I again called the number and it worked. I am in Trenton, Ontario but I have a 506 (new brunswick) number and it is working.
I just want to mention something strange. Recently i dialed some 1-800 numbers. the first time i dialed them i got a message, essentially saying the number was unreachable. HOWEVER, i tried again a second or third time and the call went through! i'm not quite sure what is going on there.

This worked for 2 different numbers for me. Could not connect the first time. Tried again immediately and it worked. Not sure why as long as it works.
