Funny you should mention that Galion...I was just about to toot some horns around here for yourself...
Reading your posts have been very informative for myself, and your calm demeanor really seems to help calm down some of the hot heads here.

Post subject: So help me out! :)
Ok, so after reading the post at the link provided (THANK YOU VERY MUCH) I realize that my Time Warner digital telephone was probably
Voip
too... How do I go about just getting a new number with
Vonage
even though we started a porting? I dont care if I keep the number or not (thought it was cool that we could) so I would rather just quit waiting for service. We just moved into the house and TW does not offer digital phone in the area, so we had to find another alternative.
Vonage
was the perfect choice since we already had TW transfer our HPI and Cable.
Your thoughts?

You can sign right up on the website, or give em a call...either way works!

Post subject: Did that
We already signed up, received the modem/router and such, but have been waiting for the port... Can we just call them and tell them to cancel the port?

You could do that, or assign a virtual number to the account also.

Personally I have found Trowski is a very informed and helpful person when it comes to
Vonage
. In fact, most regulars on the forum seem to be very helpful. As for supporting
Vonage
, hmmm, let me see, the name of this website is vonage-forum.com. Yep, I would bet a lot of us use
Vonage
and will probably try to help.
Bnr78, you're cool too. You were just pointing out Trowski's ability and providing some good input too.
As for our departed friend, I'm sorry about your experience. A lot of this technology is still blooming. You were communicating with some of the most knowledgable people about the service outside the company. I suspect that is why Dan set this site up, to help people with productive advice. I wish you well if you ever get to see this, but I hope you learn that remaining level headed with a productive discussion will help. Intelligence is not knowing everything, rather it is knowing where to find the information.
Thank you for the compliment....
btw who said that I was outside
Vonage
hehe

Post subject: Almost there!
I dont understand the delay with the guy before, because we did not need to call and cancel the port, they sent us the carrier approved notice yesturday, only a week after we ordered the port. So far we have no complaints with
Vonage
, but we are only using them for outgoing calls at this time as incoming calls are still going to our original number at our previous home.
