Has anyone tried this? I just tried it with horrid results. First let me say that the quality is on NORMAL, not HIGH. I understand that you need double the bandwidth.
When I connect both parties there's about a 5-7 second delay between when people hear each other. This is completely unacceptable! Has anyone had any luck with this feature?
Thanks |

I haven't used it, but I have talked to several who have used it with good results. It might help to know about your network connection.
You might go to...

...and do their speed tests from several different locations and post your results here. The three way calling feature is very dependent on your having enough bandwidth to support both calling streams at once. |

myself i've had good results both in normal calls and in 3 ways calls. i've only done a few 3 way but done them at different times of the day. basically i've had the service about a week and have tested it in lotsa ways to be sure it's what i was looking for (and it is)
i dont mean to say that you're not having problems. i'd do the speed tests from all different servers to get an all around idea of your line speed. so far my opinon is that Vonage can only be as good as your local provider. |

Did a check on my connection speed. Seems like its pretty fast. Download is 505K, upload is 135K...
I could see this not working with the high quality compression rate, but it should work on the normal settings. |

135K is not what i would call "good" i have 256 up and my three way calls are fine as long as i am not uploading anything from my network |

i think thats bs. Vonage needs to be able to let u change the voice over ip codecs to the GSM codec that uses less bandwidth with still good quality. That way most people with only like 128k upload they can do 3waying with Vonage. I hate that they require 180k at least. Thats ****, most providers for dsl are 128k up, and cable it 256k up. I cant get cable and im stuck with verizon online dsl and they wont upgrade my bandwidth. they say for residental use you only need 128k up load..im like bs, i use my telephone line on my bandwidth and threewaying is personal use. but of course they dont care about Vonage, they are just a internet company (verizon online anyways) |
