Hi, my friend have cancelled his Vonage account, i want to open a new account, can i use his Phone Adapter? What should i do?

Get the MAC address of the unit. Call Vonage and ask if it can be activated.

There are a number of posts in this forum that state Vonage will not re-activate an adapter for a different account. I have no first hand knowledge, but just for your info, be aware that others have had problems trying to do what you're asking about.

This seems to be the case as my daughter purchased a PAP2 at The Source but was unable to activate the MAC. After contacting CS she was told that the MAC belonged to a unit that had the service discontinued and that they could not re-activate it. She was told to bring it back to the store and exchange it for another one. So did so and new unit was activated and works great.

Good question. Best bet would be for him to call Vonage. I am not sure if you can re-activate an account without having to buy another adapter or RTP300. Question

Sorry, but that's not correct. At this moment, I'm using an adapter that I purchased on eBay, and Vonage activated it for me without problem (and I was completely honest with them about the source of the adapter also.) Additionally, one of your Vonage reps here previously stated that yes, this could be done and that if anyone had any problems, they should PM him and he'd see that it was done.

No argument with your situation - as I said, I don't have first hand experience with this, but you can search this forum and find a number of folks who recently posted stating that Vonage would absolutely not re-activate an adapter previously used on another account.
