I won't argue the point either, other than to tell you that if you call today, it can not be done.

If someone wishes to recall my statement 6 months or 6 years from now, you might find that it can be done, but not tonight as I type.

No argument with your situation - as I said, I don't have first hand experience with this, but you can search this forum and find a number of folks who recently posted stating that Vonage would absolutely not re-activate an adapter previously used on another account.

Well, I'm *really* not trying to be argumentative here, but since I'm using one right now, *and* a Vonage rep has posted saying that yes they will and PM him if you have any trouble and he'll get it done for you - with all due respect, those who say "Vonage would absolutely not" are obviously mistaken. <shrug>

Understood DallasFlier, Smile

However, once the MAC of an ATA has been activated in the system (as of today), it can not be used again. Can this policy change? Sure.

Vonage has been known to unlock the old Cisco ATA-186 for a fee, but never to re-activate back onto their own network (nor any other non-vonage devise).

So just when did this change then? Mine was activated this last Sunday, September 25th. Obviously, as recently as 4 days ago, it COULD be done, and was done.

I think the real question is, are you 100% sure whatever you just activated had been activated on the Vonage system in the past? Most units sold "as new" on eBay have not. They are free to the seller via a rebate "game" then sold to you as new (at a nice profit).

Things do change at Vonage, and I am not always the first to know, sometimes I am the second. Smile

But when I last spoke to the most highest exec regarding this very same issue, he was very detailed in his policy regarding this, and they are mirrored in my statements.

Yes, I'm 100% sure it had been activated, both because of the source of the unit; and also because support told me it was already in their system, and had to escalate it and I had to wait a couple hours for it to be activated.

Like said, I do not wish to argue with you. I know the policy, it has been in place for sometime and has confirmed to me.

If you found a hole around it, all the better for you (assuming it was all legit, which I am sure it was).

I must tell you, all those blue boxes sure do look nice. Smile
