800-843-5879 (THE JURY) is the number that summoned jurors must call prior to their lot date to check if they're being called to sit.
It's blocked, with a Eureka Networks 007 intercept.
Customer Svc claims that Fed/State bureaucracies block IP calls to ensure that the caller isn't fiddling with the CLID, however, the Governer's office's toll free is NOT blocked, nor are 4 other random toll free Massachusetts #'s.
As Mass Jury Selection doesn't offer a local number, a trip to the closest payphone was needed .. as I don't have a pots line at home.
Hmmmph....

Try: (617) 422-5860, x 202
Ask them how to reach the information line from out of state. |

One of the FAQs on the Vonage site mentions that some 800 numbers block out of state calls, and that VoIP calls are sometimes identified as out of state even when they're not. Could that be what's happening here? |

I don't know what level C.S. told you that it was blocked. I also received fast busy signals on some 800 numbers. I tested them from a POTS line like you did, called C.S. opened a ticket, they verified it could be called from a land line, but not Vonage. They opened an escalation ticket to 2nd/3rd level. It took about 4 or 5 days, but Vonage fixed the routing issue on their network switch, and I was able to call.
I work with the PBX at work, and every now and there there are routing issues in different parts of the county with 800 numbers and the main carrier needs to work with local carriers to fix the routing issues, and in my case this was this issue, and opening a ticket and getting it escalated fixed the issue. I think you should just call back and see if you get better assistance the second time around.... |
