Everyone, just thought I'd pass on some news I just found out about. I signed up last month via the special offer coupon on this website and when I did, it said, "Congratulations! Because you signed up under a special offer, we are pleased to inform you that you are eligible to receive your second month of Vonage service free!" (I've included a cached copy of the link from Google) - http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:Iun0uRBXJxkJ:https://subscribe.vonage.com/vonage-subscribe/%3Fplan%3Dbiz%26refer_id%3Dpn1a49np745vt1194one+vonage+free+%22second+month%22&hl=en&lr=lang_en
Well, I looked at my account online yesterday and low and behold I was charged $27.24 for my upcoming second month. I called tonight (was on hold for 20 minutes) and asked when was I going to get my credit for my free second month. The guy put me on hold and after about 5 minutes, came back and told me, "I don't know how to put this, but we're no longer giving a free second month of service". My reply was, "I don't think so." and he said, "I had a feeling you were going to say that" and put me back on hold for another 5 minutes or so. He came back and told that he was just informed by his supervisor that Vonage is longer giving a free second month of service. To confirm this, if you click on the sign-up coupon on this website, it now just says, "Congratulations!" -- no more references to a free second month of service. His supervisor went ahead and authorized the guy to credit my account $24.99 for my second month of "free" service. I asked about credit for the taxes and he says the free second month was only for the monthly price, not the taxes. I seem to recall reading that somewhere, but wasn't sure. Could someone verify this?
So, I don't know what's going on but I thought I'd let any and all new customers to beware of this new, dirty process that Vonage is implementing. |

Yes, you have to pay the taxes. The second month, to my understanding, is to the current subscriber who refers someone. The person who subscribes only receives one month free. Also, the credit is based on which plan the person subscribes to. For example, I have the unlimited plan, but when a friend subscribed to the $14.99 plan, I received credit in the amount of 2 months at $14.99 not $24.99.
I know you are talking about google and I am not sure about that. |
