RTP300/Cable modem setup/2 pc's
Panasonic phone (same as I used in the past w/Vonage)

Problems- All calls go straight to VM. I can make o/b calls w/o a prob., sound quality is good. Ph connected directly to adapter (port 1)..Did a forum search, nothing definite found.

VM PW- I made the change on web but it still wont recognize it (tried the old one too). How long does it take for the pw to update?

Caller ID- when I call from Vonage to my Verizon Cell, it shows up w/a completely different area code and number.

The calls I have made sound fine.
I have seen posts about opening ports but I never had to do that before except for port 10000.
Also I think I saw somewhere that connecting the cat5 to PC port 1 will be the only pc that can access the Router, true?

I confirmed this strange Caller ID number when calling my wifes cell (we live in the 415 area code but Vonage reports a 972 code). Also I disabled call forwarding and Network Availability (since calls were being routed to my phone) and it goes to VM as Im assuming it thinks the network is down?
. I remembered when my Firewall used to report hits to the 10000 port when I had Vonage a few months back but I have yet to see it on my FW log.....

hmm found this in the Router setup screen, Status/Voice
Registration Status: 19723061518 19723061518 Done
thats the caller id number I get when I call from the Vonage ph to my cell....I guess the router needs to be correctly configured....
drat...now I have to call their Helpdesk!!!!! arrgghhh

Oh man....ok I called Vonage and they picked up immeadiately. I explained everything to the nice Indian girl and it was determined that Vonage sent me the wrong Router hence the strange ph number. The document that was sent w/my router showed a different MAC addres too. So the girl tells me I need to call shipping to have them send me another one,,,lol....I said "what, I am not calling. This is a Vonage error and I expect Vonage to handle it"...I was'nt getting anywhere w/her so I asked for a Supervisor, the nice Indian Supervisor basically said the same thing!!! Unbelievable!!.I refused to call shipping. She then said that I could BUY a new router and have tech support enter the MAC into the system...dam..
I refused that as well. Then she said ok, we will have a 2nd level tech just reconfig the router using the MAC given so it would now point to your account....sheesh, why didnt they say that in the first place!!
I was transferred back to the Americas!!!...Im working w/tech support while im typing this.....
Ok it gonna be awhile....ill let me know what happens (err I mean Ill let YOU all know what happens
