I don't think you can do *exactly* what you're asking for. You can download the Softphone application from here, but I don't think you can use your normal Vonage home phone number with it. It costs $12.99/month and has its own phone number.
Fortunately, there's a much better alternative (in my opinion). Skype. If you want to make outgoing phone calls from any Internet connection, Skype is the way to go. You'll have to purchase Skypeout credits, but they're incredibly cheap (I bought 10 Euros three months ago for use within Canada and I still have almost 5 left) and there's no monthly fee. The credits last until they're gone.
Since you're going to be sitting in a hotel room anyhow, you're not going to get the advantage of any Vonage QoS, so you might as well use Skype (or Gizmo is another one, but I haven't tried it) and save your money.
$12.99 for a softphone is ridiculous unless you have a use for the dedicated number. |

Thanks, I was starting to believe that was the answer. It is strange that Vonage would charge subscribers $13/month for software. I will check into Skype. |

Especially considering that I believe the Softphone, as they call it, is really the X-Ten Light application that is free for non commercial use anyhow!
Yeah...Skype is a better deal and although I don't know about the quality of the Vonage thingy, I know that Skype's is very good. |

Ha, ha..., thanks dabones.
Normally, I suggest that the offenders read the Forum Rules first.
Then (depending on my mood) I lock it if it continues to persist. |

it shouldn't..
these forums are not for Voip provider comparison, there are other forums for that, dslreports and howardforums are 2 off hand.. this forums is for help with Vonage services/features.. besides, this is Dan's forum (about Vonage), not Vonage's forum.. |

One other thing you can do: use your laptop as the wifi client, and bridge your wifi connection to your Ethernet port. Hook up your computer's Ethernet port to the Voip adapter box. It's kinda kludgy but it will work. |
