I've been having few problems with my adapter i've had for a year now. I saw that Vonage offers wireless ones now but I called them up they want 99 dollars for it. Is there no way I can just exchange this? It's a RT31P2

are you sure they offered the wireless one to you? I've never ever seen Vonage ship anything besides their chosen box (rt31p2 for a bit, and now the rtp300). a wireless version has been around for a long time (wrt54gp2) but the wrtp54g is the newest, and buggiest if you search the forums.
long story short, if you were truly having issues they can't resolve, they should replace it for free with an rtp300. if you want wireless, you should get a linksys wrt54g which is a better choice for several reasons.

Based on my own experience, I need to disagree with this. I've been told by Vonage, and some people on this forum, that the RTP300 and the WRTP54G are identical except for the wireless functionality of the latter. I can tell you that the wireless features of the WRTP54G have been the least buggy part of the product. The network connectivity has been flawless, at least for me. All of the voice issues that I've had with the WRTP54G have also been reported for the RTP300, and they've been fixed simultaneously on the two devices.
The main reason to prefer the WRT54G/RTP300 combo is to avoid "putting all your eggs in one basket." With the WRTP54G, if it breaks you have lost everything. As long as you have a cell phone as a backup, this is acceptable. In fact, I consider a cell phone backup to be mandatory for Voip. Voip is vulnerable to both power outages and loss of broadband service, neither of which is a problem with POTS or cell phones.

I have had the Cisco ATA-186 for over two years. I have had the WRTP54G for over two months. The Cisco box is my "business when I'm at home" line and the Linksys is where I finally kissed BellSouth goodbye and upgraded to WPA wireless.

When I got the Linksys box home from Staples, it didn't work and I had to find a later firmware version (1.00.20 to 1.00.2Cool before I got dial tone. There was a slight echo for the folks I was talking to until last week when 1.00.50 arrived on scene.

My network connectivity was rock solid, the wireless is steady and I have nine machines going through this box with two wired and seven wireless. The WRTP54G clearly didn't have a good start but it is easy to setup, it works very well with the right firmware and I'm quite happy with my purchase.
